PU VC increases research grant for research projects

       Lahore: (Monday, November 03, 2025): Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Ali has increased the research grant for research projects to promote a culture of research and strengthen industry-academia-society linkages for development of country and society. According to a PU spokesperson, the university has invited proposals from faculty members for research projects for the year 2025–26. He stated that each faculty member of PU will now be provided with a research grant of Rs. 300,000 for the completion of their research project, earlier, only professors were entitled to receive a grant of Rs. 300,000, while associate professors received Rs. 250,000 and assistant professors and lecturers were given Rs. 200,000. The spokesperson added that the grant will be awarded upon the approval of the research proposal. He said that faculty members are required to obtain a no objection certificate (NoC) from their respective Dean or Head of Department before submitting their research proposal.
